What is “Community Days?”Each year the GGML organizes a week-long community fair known as “Greater Mifflin Community Days” which enables local organizations to raise funds and also bring the community closer together. The fair is held on the campus of the Governor Mifflin Intermediate and Elementary Schools. There are generally more than 45 food and game stands as well as amusement rides. Nightly entertainment is provided free of charge. The week-long event is climaxed on the Saturday following the 4th of July with a fabulous fireworks display.

Where do the proceeds go?The food and game stands are sponsored by or run solely by Governor Mifflin-based organizations. The proceeds from the stands are divided between the sponsoring organizations and the GGML. GGML proceeds from the fair are returned to the community in the form of contributions to local fire companies, ambulance associations, scout troops, school projects, community projects, scholarships, etc. as determined by the GGML. Since 1976, the GGML has returned over $500,000 back into the community which has included substantial contributions to the above mentioned groups. Also, the GGML sponsors the “free” nightly entertainment and fireworks display which is an admirable return to the community.
